We are survivors and caregivers of brain injured people.
Our support extends beyond the meetings; the survivors and caregivers have formed friendships that last…
The support group meets every 4th Saturday of the month at 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Mease Dunedin Hospital. We are a mixed group of people who have suffered from every type of brain trauma. Our group meets to help and support each other and also learn information from a wide variety of speakers.Follow Us on Facebook

Q&A What is Tampa Bay Brain Injury Support Group?
We are a community of people living with brain injury. More importantly, we feel valued and supported for who we are TODAY.
How many years has the group been active?
Tampa Bay Brain Injury Support Group was formed on December 10, 2015 as a result of the merger between three active brain injury support groups in the Tampa Bay area. Some of our members have been part of the group for six years!
When and where do you meet?
Our meetings are held the 4th Saturday of every month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, FL. In addition, we also have fun monthly social events for the entire family. Some of our favorite activities include: Dine-outs, Bowling, Picnics, Sunsets-At-The-Beach, Game Day, etc.
What happens in a typical meeting?
We offer volunteer participation roles for those who want to take an active role. Yet, we also respect the individual choices of our members if they prefer not to do so. Facilitators work side-by-side with volunteer members to deliver structured and focused meetings in diverse topics of interest pre-selected by our brain injury community. We also invite expert speakers to share their insights with the group.
What kind of topics do you typically discuss in a meeting?
Topics may include coping strategies, functional activities to improve cognition, as well as non-brain injury topics such as, learning about Florida’s wildlife, experiencing art and/or music, fire prevention and safety, etc.
How can I get started?
Just come visit one of our meetings OR email one of our facilitators/coordinator. We will be happy to send you our bi-monthly newsletter and answer any questions you may have to help you get started.
